Jamie Rowlands named as an 'Elite' Foreign Lawyer in China by China Business Law Journal

14 December 2018

The firm's international presence and success levels has been truly recognised today in the form of our own Jamie Rowlands, lead partner at the China office, being named as one of 50 Elite Foreign Lawyers working in China. This is an annual list compiled by The China Business Law Journal, a leading and eminent publication.

In the face of a constantly shifting commercial and regulatory environment in China, the demand for legal services within and relating to China are often complex and multi-dimensional. In order to better determine what special qualities make an outstanding commercial lawyer, China Business Law Journal conducted its annual survey and received over 1,000 recommendations from corporate legal counsel, senior officers and legal colleagues, from whom it selected 150 elite lawyers (100 of whom are from Chinese law firms and 50 of whom are from foreign law firms) involved in China business.

In light of the parameters and strict criteria, therefore, it is fantastic for Jamie to have achieved this recognition, not only in support of his own professional standing, but as a compelling parallel to the firm's unswerving commitment to providing excellence on a global basis.

Commenting on the attainment, Jamie said:

"This is a fantastic testimonial to the work of my team, but also to the opportunities that clients have provided us with, allowing us to work alongside them as business partners, thereby transcending beyond the parameters of the traditional adviser role - which in turn has allowed us to work as innovatively as possible."
