Two Gowling WLG professionals recognized among Latinvex’s top 100 female lawyers focused on Latin America for 2018

Latinvex has named two Gowling WLG partners among the top 100 international female lawyers specializing in Latin America for 2018: Cyndi Laval, a Vancouver-based partner and leader of the firm's national Corporate Finance, Mergers & Acquisitions (M&A) and Private Equity Group, and France Tenaille, a Toronto-based partner and leader of the firm's Latin America Initiative.

This marks the second year in a row in which Latinvex has ranked both Laval and Tenaille among the top 100 female lawyers focused on Latin America.

Named one of Vancouver's 30 leading lawyers by the National Post, Laval advises domestic and foreign companies on matters related to corporate finance, securities, M&A and mining law. She is the former co-leader of the firm's Mining Group and remains especially active in the global resource industry.

With more than five years' experience practising law in Venezuela before moving to Canada about 18 years ago, Tenaille is well-versed in the legal system, culture and business practices of Latin America. Having Spanish as her first language, Tenaille regularly advises Canadian and international clients on a broad range of Latin American matters, including cross-border M&A and transactions in the region's energy and mining sectors. Earlier this year, Tenaille was also recognized among Latinvex's top 100 mining lawyers specializing in Latin America among international law firms for 2018.

Known as a key source of Latin American news and analysis, Latinvex provides extensive and unique coverage of Latin American business, with an emphasis on the legal, technology and energy industries.

Gowling WLG's multidisciplinary legal team holds an in-depth understanding of the unique opportunities and challenges in Latin America.
