Lorna is the absolute pinnacle of the professional services community but more importantly she's had a huge impact on our community and our region.
Being a lawyer in a big international law firm as you can imagine takes up a lot of your time. What Lorna has basically done in switching to being Head of CSR is putting aside the making money for the business aspect of the work and she's focussing solely on how the business can help other people.
Through the work that Lorna has done that has significantly enabled Gowling WLG to say we need to do more than just tick a box, we need to care, we need to look for opportunities as often as we can, we need to as a company make a difference.
In times of homelessness Lorna has been instrumental in bringing the business community together to try to tackle this issue that we are facing as a City.
Lorna fundamentally at the end of the day believes that firms must invest in the local community be that you invest in people or that you care about the environment, in order to operate fully within Birmingham you must care as a business about the society that we live in and Lorna drives that message through and I believe drives that message through the professional services community.
Lorna is an inspirational woman and my view would be is if you are trying to do things in the City, if you're trying to make changes Lorna is someone that you want by your side leading it.
