Gowling WLG shortlisted within the Responsible Business Awards 2019

Gowling WLG has made the coveted shortlist for Business in the Community's Unipart Outstanding Employment Award 2019.

The firm is one of six finalists in this category of The Responsible Business Awards 2019, which are Business in the Community's flagship annual recognition mark. Celebrating the leaders in responsible business, the awards put the spotlight on businesses with the very best examples of impact to encourage new ways of thinking and which inspire others to take action.

In recognising Gowling WLG in The Unipart Outstanding Employment Award category BITC has highlighted the firm's multi-faceted 'Breaking down Barriers' programme. This focuses on boosting employability and access to employment for those facing multiple barriers. It also supports those already in work to give them the best chance of maintaining employment and prevent further homelessness.

Commenting on the shortlisting, Lorna Gavin, Gowling WLG's Head of Diversity, Inclusion & Corporate Responsibility, said:

"We are proud to receive this acknowledgment of the impact our 'Breaking down Barriers' programme is making in supporting employability and skills. We see the unique power that good employment has to turn lives around, building a stable foundation for wellbeing, home life and happiness. The programme is a core part of our corporate responsibility programme and we continue to strive to keep moving it forward."

Winners of The Responsible Business Awards are to be announced on 9 July 2019 at the Royal Albert Hall, London.
