Gowling WLG wins big with two Canadian Law Blog Awards for 2018

04 January 2019

Gowling WLG's Diversonomics podcast and Condo Adviser blog have each been recognized with a Canadian Law Blog Award, also known as a "Clawbie," for 2018. Condo Adviser won in the category of "Best Practice Group Blog" and Diversonomics for "Best Legal Culture Blog."

While this marks the third Clawbie win for Condo Adviser in the last four years, this is the first ever Clawbie win for the Diversonomics series.

Heading into its fourth season, Diversonomics, Gowling WLG's popular podcast about diversity and inclusion (D&I) in the legal market, is co-hosted by Roberto Aburto, partner and co-chair of the firm's National D&I Council, and Cindy Kou, an associate lawyer in the firm's Business Law department. The podcast series is known for its open and honest discussions about critical workplace issues concerning race, gender and sexuality, mental health, unconscious bias, allyship and more.

Established in 2015, Condo Adviser, is a reliable and timely blog exploring condominium legal issues in Ontario. It was created and is edited by Gowling WLG partner Rod Escayola. The blog won a Clawbie for "Best Niche Blog" in 2016 and for "Best Practice Group Blog" in 2015.

Now in their thirteenth year, the Clawbies recognize the best of some 500 blogs and podcasts published by the Canadian legal industry. Nominees are put forward by industry peers and winners are announced annually on New Year's Eve.
