Gowling WLG makes the shortlist for The Law Society Excellence Awards 2019

This week saw The Law Society announce the shortlist for its annual Excellence Awards and Gowling WLG is among the finalists - showcasing the firm's work in the area of Diversity and Inclusion.

Hosted by The Law Society, the awards celebrate the contribution and achievements of solicitors, legal teams and firms of all sizes across England and Wales. Now in their 12^th year, the focus of the programme is to identify and showcase the very best of the profession. In doing so, it draws on the skills and experience of an expert panel of judges chosen from across the industry.

Gowling WLG's shortlisting in the 'Excellence in Diversity & Inclusion' (D&I) category recognises the impact of the firm's 'Inclusion 2020' strategy. Here, Gowling WLG's focus is to build on existing D&I infrastructure by embedding and hardwiring inclusion into working policies, processes and practices. This is backed-up by a commitment to continuously strive to create an inclusive workplace that recognises and supports individuality.

Winners of the Excellence Awards will be announced on Wednesday 23 October 2019 at a ceremony at Grosvenor House, London.

This latest shortlisting builds on the firm's other achievements in this area, having recently won the 'Excellence in Diversity & Inclusion' category at The Lawyer Awards 2019. The firm was also a finalist in the Business in the Community's Unipart Outstanding Employment Award 2019 and has recently celebrated its 19^th year of being named in the UK's Best Workplaces™ rankings by the Great Place to Work®.
