Gowling WLG wins multiple trademark accolades at MIP Americas 2019 Awards

05 April 2019

Last night, Gowling WLG was named Canadian "Firm of the Year" in both the Trademark Contentious and Trademark Prosecution categories at the Managing Intellectual Property (MIP) Americas 2019 Awards.

In addition, the firm received the prestigious "Impact Case of the Year" award for its role in Dollar General Corporation v. 2900319 Canada Inc. (2018 FC 778). Partner Kelly Gill was nominated as Canadian "Litigator of the Year" for his efforts and hard work on the case.

Presented annually by MIP, one of the world's foremost intellectual property publications, the awards distinguish the leading IP firms and practitioners across North and South America.

Gill and partner Jennifer Morton were on hand at the ceremony in New York City to accept the awards on behalf of the firm.

The awards follow a string of recent successes for Gowling WLG's IP team. Just last March, Gowling WLG was named "Designs Firm of the Year" and "Middle East Firm to Watch" at the MIP Europe, Middle East and Africa Awards 2019.
