Double win for EMEA IP team at MIP awards 2020

Gowling WLG's Intellectual Property (IP) team has been recognised in two categories at Managing Intellectual Property's EMEA Awards 2020.

The Russian team was named Trademark Firm of the Year, while the UK won UK Designs Firm of the Year for the second consecutive year. The firm was shortlisted in six other categories, including Russian Patent Firm of the Year, UAE Prosecution Firm of the Year and UK IP Transactions Firm of the Year. UK partner Patrick Duxbury was also nominated for UK Practitioner of the Year.

The15th annual IP awards, which took place in London on 5th March 2020, celebrate firms, individuals and companies behind the most innovative and challenging IP work over the past year, as well as those driving the market.

Managing Intellectual Property, one of the world's most notable IP publications, selected the winners based on a comprehensive firm submission supported by feedback from peers and independent research.

This year's success follows a double award win at the 2019 MIP EMEA awards, with Gowling WLG named Designs Firm of the Year (UK) and Middle East Firm to Watch.

Gowling WLG's Canadian IP team has been shortlisted in all five Firm of the Year categories for Canada at the MIP Americas Awards. Lynne Watt has been shortlisted as an outstanding practitioner for copyright, while Lori Hall is in the running for trademark outstanding practitioner. The results will be announced on 26th March in New York.
