Gowling WLG was named "Firm of the Year" in two categories at the 2020 Global IP Awards, presented jointly by the international publications Intellectual Asset Management (IAM) and World Trademark Review (WTR).
The firm took home the awards for Russian "Patent Firm of the Year" and Canadian "Trademark Firm of the Year" - a testament to the firm's Intellectual Property (IP) strength in jurisdictions around the world.
Now in their second year, the Global IP Awards recognize the world's leading IP law firms based on IAM's and WTR's reporting and analysis of notable IP achievements in litigation, prosecution and transactional work over the past year.
Last night, Canadian partner Shelagh Carnegie and Moscow partner Vladislav Ugryumov attended the ceremony in London to accept the awards.
Gowling WLG's success at the Global IP Awards follows a string of other achievements the firm's global IP Group has received in several IAM and WTR guides. A total of 15 Gowling WLG IP practitioners were included in IAM Global Leaders 2020 and WTR Global Leaders 2019. The firm was also one of only 12 firms identified as "international titans," having secured rankings in multiple regions in the 2019 editions of both WTR 1000 and IAM Patent 1000.
