Gowling WLG Dubai named in Legal 500 EMEA 2021 rankings

Gowling WLG Dubai's technology and intellectual property teams have been named as leaders in their field in the Legal 500 2021 EMEA guide.

Gowling WLG Dubai's technology team continue to show strength in the Legal 500 EMEA rankings having established the practice only three years ago. The team have delivered some exciting projects over the course of the year despite the challenges of COVID-19. The projects and clients they have assisted display their specialisms in disruptive technologies such as blockchain, the implementation of AI and essentials in e-commerce. The team is led by Partner Tony Fielding. Principal Associate Alexandre Brazeau is listed as a notable practitioner and key member of the tech practice given his standing in the FinTech space and comprehensive understanding of the digital payments landscape in the region.

Jon Parker, global IP leader and head of Gowling WLG Dubai's IP practice remains in the ranking as a 'Leading Individual' with the Dubai based IP team also ranked. Clients say: "They look after clients extremely well, the attention to detail is excellent and you always feel that nothing is too much trouble". Clients also commend Jon Parker in saying: 'He has an enormous level of local knowledge and is willing to share that openly so that client's get the best possible advice'. Legal 500 also mention Rachel Armstrong as a notable practitioner in the ranking, which is testament to the instrumental role she plays within the team. This ranking is the latest in a long list of Jon and teams accolades. Most notably in 2021 the team were named 'UAE Prosecution Firm of the Year' by the Managing IP EMEA Awards.
