Partner and co-head of Gowling WLG's Energy Sector, Gareth Baker, has been named in Business Today's exclusive Top 10 UK-wide Influential Lawyers in Renewables & Alternative Energy 2023 list.

Each year, Business Today names a select group of distinguished individuals who stand out for their expertise in handling key legal matters in the energy sector and the significant role they play in supporting the continued development of renewable energy in the UK. Lawyers feature for their work at the forefront of energy and natural resources developments in the UK to provide strategic counsel on renewable energy acquisitions, disposals, and financings.

He is also praised "for his diversity", covering "sectors spanning wind, solar, and waste-to-energy developments".

The listing follows wider Energy sector success this year with the team having been ranked by Chambers & Partners in their UK 2024 guide for 'Energy & Natural Resources: Power' and 'Energy & Natural Resources: Renewables & Alternative Energy'. Our Energy lawyers were also recognised by The Legal 500 in its UK 2024 directory, garnering leading rankings for 'Energy, Project Finance and PFI' and 'Power (including electricity, nuclear, and renewables)'.
