Vladimir Dementiev appointed to advisory board of Russian IP court

Gowlings is delighted to announce that Vladimir Dementiev, special counsel in the firm’s Russia/CIS office in Moscow, has been appointed to the Scientific Advisory Board of the Russian Court for Intellectual Property Rights.

As a member of the board, Dr. Dementiev will be tasked with advising the court on complex IP matters, such as scientific expertise and the application of international treaties and regulations. He will also provide key insight on improvements to Russian IP law.

Dr. Dementiev has held a number of leadership positions, including vice president of the Russian Chamber of Patent Attorneys and former chief of the Department of Patent Law at the Institute of Improvement of Professional Skills. He has also been instrumental in the development of patent law for the Russian Federation, as well as regulations for patent attorneys.
