ORT Toronto honours Ralph Lean with celebrity roast

06 March 2017

Gowling WLG is pleased to announce that the firm's very own Ralph Lean will be roasted tonight at a sold-out fundraising gala benefitting ORT Toronto.

The Celebrity Roast of Ralph Lean and Gala Tribute - co-chaired by Larry Tanenbaum, Jim Leech and Sheldon Levy and hosted by Barry Avrich and Julianna Greenspan - will be held at the Four Seasons Toronto.

The roast will feature barbs from Toronto mayor John Tory, hockey heavyweight Glen Sather, Postmedia CEO Paul Godfrey, Blue Jays patriarch Paul Beeston, Raptors GM Masai Ujiri, former Ontario premier Mike Harris, Ontario PC party leader Patrick Brown, CTV News anchor Ken Shaw, Cargojet CEO Ajay Virmani and Grey Cup champion Jim Barker.

Not wanting to miss the opportunity to get their jibes in, Ontario premier Kathleen Wynne, former Ontario premier David Peterson and hockey legend Wayne Gretzky will participate by way of video.

"Gowling WLG is tremendously proud of Ralph and his involvement with ORT Toronto. I'm really looking forward to attending tonight's event - and with so many people keen to roast Ralph, he may not have time for a rebuttal," said Karyn Bradley, managing partner of Gowling WLG's Toronto office.

World ORT, founded in 1880, operates in 59 countries and helps approximately 300,000 people through education and vocational training initiatives. ORT Toronto ensures that students in need, both at home and abroad, receive the best education possible.
