Gowling WLG is delighted to congratulate two of its clients on their recent recognition in the 2019 TSX Venture 50. Both Aleafia Health Inc. and Kraken Robotics Inc. were distinguished among the top five TSX Venture Exchange (TSXV) performers of last year.
Aleafia Health Inc., a leader in Canada's flourishing cannabis sector, was not only named the top company in the TSX Venture 50's Clean Technology & Life Sciences category, but was also identified as the top performer across all industry sectors.
Aleafia recently announced that it had received conditional approval from the Toronto Stock Exchange (TSX) to graduate from the TSXV and list its common shares on the TSX — a significant milestone for the company.
Kraken Robotics Inc., a Newfoundland-based developer of sophisticated underwater equipment, was named the top company in the Technology category. Founded in 2012, Kraken is recognized as the world leading innovator of Synthetic Aperture Sonar (SAS), a revolutionary underwater imaging technology that dramatically improves seabed surveys by providing ultra-high resolution imagery at superior coverage rates. Since its founding, Kraken has evolved it business from a sensors focused company to a provider of complete marine systems.
Gowling WLG commends Aleafia and Kraken on these important achievements, and looks forward to working with both companies as they continue to grow in the years ahead.
Published annually, the TSX 2019 Venture 50 identifies the TSXV's top performing companies across five industry sector categories. Winners are selected based on market capitalization growth, share price appreciation and trading volume amount.
