As part of a wave of new appointments and promotions for Gowling WLG globally, Tony Fielding, head of the Technology practice for the firm's office in Dubai, has been appointed partner.
Tony's practice focuses on disruptive technologies, including FinTech, digital health, blockchain, Artificial Intelligence and IoT, plus telecoms (in particular 5G initiatives), e-commerce, e-payments, developing regional data protection frameworks, cybersecurity, and other emerging tech trends.
Having established the Dubai tech practice a year ago, Tony and his team have built an impressive client base in a short space of time, advising the leading e-commerce and tech companies in the region, as well as various government entities on high profile and first-to-market tech initiatives. Tony also plays an active role within the global tech team working with colleagues from across the globe.
