Gowling WLG is excited to announce the early release of GoXL, a one-of-a-kind web-based platform that offers IP owners and advisers easy access to the knowledge they need to compete in today's global market.
Underpinned by a deep appreciation for the dynamic ways our clients work, learn and interact, GoXL features a rich library of articles, videos, podcasts, and webinars. Once fully realized, it will also contain a collection of interactive on-demand video tutorials that take users, step by step, through the entire IP lifecycle.
"As technology continues to radically transform our industry, GoXL is our team's way of rethinking how we engage with – and are engaged by – IP stakeholders the world over," said Robert MacDonald, co-leader of Gowling WLG's global IP Group. "With face-to-face meetings now impossible in most jurisdictions because of COVID-19, the need for just such a platform has never been so urgent."
The full GoXL platform is slated for release in winter 2020; however, with a view to staying connected and fostering community during these uncertain times, Gowling WLG's IP team is pleased to preview an early iteration of this developing digital resource. The early release also affords users the opportunity to feed into the final product as it takes shape.
"Our team is always looking for innovative new ways to serve our clients better – and serve our clients differently," said Gordon Harris, who co-leads the firm's IP Group with MacDonald. "With these goals top of mind, we look forward to expanding GoXL in the days, weeks and months ahead in a way that gives the IP owners and professionals with whom we work a true competitive edge."
In conjunction with the launch, Gowling WLG is also happy to announce a forthcoming live webinar series (available exclusively through GoXL), titled "The life cycle of a smart idea." The first installment of the series, which is aimed at helping rights holders maximize opportunity and minimize risk when bringing inventive new ideas to market, is scheduled for May 13, 2020.
