As part of its expansion strategy in Paris, Gowling WLG has welcomed Julie Vuagnoux, Of Counsel in public law to the firm. Julie's mission will be to share her expertise in environmental, energy and town planning law with the firm's Finance/Renewable Energy and Real Estate teams.

The appointment strengthens the firm's expertise in public law and cross-functional offerings as part of the latest stage of growth in Paris. Two partners also joined the firm in the first quarter of 2020: Sylvain Canard-Volland in real estate law and Patrick Mousset who has strengthened the Corporate M&A / Private Equity department. Other partners and associates will also join the team in the coming months.

With nearly 13 years of experience, Julie is active in all areas of public business law. She regularly assists public and private entities in town planning law, environmental law and energy law, particularly in the renewable energy sector, and in related litigation. In addition, she has significant experience in the financing of public projects (PPP, concessions, etc.) and advises public entities and private operators during the structuring of operations, the public tender process and the execution of contracts. Julie also has specific expertise in bond financing for public issuers.

Julie's appointment enables Gowling WLG to redevelop a public law practice and to offer clients a range of services covering all issues encountered in real estate law and project financing.

Antoine Pampouille, financing partner in Paris, said: "Julie's return confirms the multidisciplinary and dynamic approach of our structure. Our growth, both in terms of teams and expertise, brings together Gowling WLG's most experienced practitioners. Our commitment to cross-functionality, reinforced by Julie's return to the firm, also strengthen synergies with Gowling WLG's UK and Canadian offices."

A graduate of two Masters II (Internal Public Law and Public Law Litigation from the University Panthéon-Sorbonne), Julie Vuagnoux has been a member of the Paris Bar since 2007. She began her career with international business law firms Orrick Rambaud Martel (2007-2012) and Watson Farley & William (2012-2015). She practised at Gowling WLG from 2015 to 2019 and is now returning after a year at DLA Piper

Julie said: "I am delighted to be returning to Gowling WLG's Paris office and helping to expand it. The complementary expertise within the firm is perfectly in line with my legal practice and satisfies the requirements of our clients. Coming back to Gowling WLG to participate in this new dynamic was an obvious choice."
