André Bergeron joins Gowling WLG's Transfer Pricing and Competent Authority Group in Ottawa
Gowling WLG is pleased to welcome André Bergeron to its national Transfer Pricing and Competent Authority Group as a partner located in Ottawa.
Bergeron joins the firm after a successful 20-year career at the Government of Canada, where he spent 10 years as a senior economist for the Canadian Revenue Agency (CRA).
With his extensive CRA experience, Bergeron focuses his practice on transfer pricing analysis, international audit defense, mutual agreement procedures (MAPs) and advanced pricing agreements (APAs) to help clients optimize their global tax position.
Bergeron has negotiated MAPs and APAs with many foreign governments, specifically the United States, South Korea, Denmark, Netherlands, Switzerland, China, India, and Chile, for companies in a wide range of industries – including pharmaceuticals, automotive, gaming, natural resources, communications and electronics.
"André brings to the firm a current perspective of government workings and a fresh outlook on the changing world of transfer pricing, one that strongly complements the service offering of our practice," said Dale Hill, national leader of Gowling WLG's Transfer Pricing and Competent Authority Group. "With his recent experience working with the CRA and proven ability to forge collaborative relationships with multinational companies, André will be an important addition to our team and a significant resource for our clients."
