Cyrus Reporter rejoins Gowling WLG's Government Affairs Team in Ottawa

Gowling WLG is pleased to welcome back Cyrus Reporter to our Ottawa office as a partner in our Government Affairs Group.

Cyrus is one of Canada's leading public policy and communications practitioners. With over 25 years of executive-level experience in both public and private sectors, he is well known to senior public servants, politicians, and corporate leaders. A respected adviser, Cyrus will assist clients with strategic communications, risk mitigation, government relations planning and direct advocacy. Cyrus will also be involved in the firm's initiatives in India and the United Arab Emirates.

Most recently, Cyrus served as vice president, public & government affairs at Canadian National Railway, where he had direct oversight of government and stakeholder relations for North America as well as corporate communications and media relations.

Cyrus previously served as chief of staff in three federal departments and to current Prime Minister Justin Trudeau, while he was Leader of the Liberal Party of Canada. He has also worked as a lead adviser in the Office of the Prime Minister.

Outside of his legal career, Cyrus is an active member of the Ottawa community and currently serves as a board member of Hydro Ottawa. In recent years, he has also served as a director of the Indo-Canada Ottawa Business Chamber, a director of Ottawa Community Immigration Services, a member of the City of Ottawa Transit Commission, and a member of the Carleton University Board of Governors.
