Gowling WLG is pleased to announce that Dan Misutka has joined the firm as a partner in the Administrative Law Group. He will split his time between our Calgary and Vancouver offices.

Dan is a seasoned litigator. He worked previously as a federal prosecutor with Canada's Department of Justice, then as tax litigation counsel on behalf of the Minister of National Revenue, and since 2004, has been in private practice, with a focus on tax litigation and tax dispute resolution.

"Dan's extensive advocacy and criminal law experience is a significant asset to the work our Administrative Law team has now and anticipates in future," said Regina Corrigan, managing partner of Gowling WLG's Calgary office. "We are very excited to have him on our team."

Dan complements his administrative law experience with a sophisticated background in tax law, and as part of his practice, will be working closely with Gowling WLG's Tax Group. He previously served as counsel at a tax law firm, with a focus on tax litigation and tax dispute resolution.

Over the course of his career, Dan has appeared before all levels of courts in Alberta, the Federal Court, the Tax Court of Canada, and the Federal Court of Appeal. He has taught a number of professional development courses for the Canadian Institute of Chartered Accountants (now CPA Canada).
