Amy Williams

Amy Williams is a summer law student in Gowling WLG’s Ottawa office.

Amy is completing her juris doctor at the University of Ottawa. She completed her bachelor of arts in sociology and criminology at Brock University in 2011 and Paralegal Diploma at Centennial College in 2013.

Prior to entering law school, Amy worked in intellectual property (IP) and handled all aspects of IP prosecution, with a particular emphasis on trademarks and patents. Amy managed numerous IP portfolios and liaised with foreign associates and other national and regional IP offices around the world. She also assisted with commercial transactions by conducting due diligence investigations relating to passing off matters, corporate reorganization, and mergers and acquisitions.

In her free time, Amy enjoys hiking and being out on the water.

Amy will focus her summer term in the firm's Business Law Department.
