Andrea Leung

Andrea is an articling student in Gowling WLG's Waterloo office who is passionate about providing the best possible legal assistance to her clients.

She enjoys problem solving and working proactively to address issues before they arise, anticipating her clients' needs and providing practical and useful legal assistance. Intimate knowledge of her family's small businesses, as well as various not-for-profit organizations, underpins her understanding of how day-to-day tasks contribute to the bigger picture. She aims to leverage that experience to help her clients problem solve as efficiently as possible.

Andrea completed her JD from the University of Ottawa (English Common Law program), graduating cum laude. During law school, Andrea worked with a community legal clinic in Toronto, represented the University of Ottawa at the 2023 Canadian Client Consultation Competition, and interned with the in-house legal team at the Dairy Farmers of Ontario.

Prior to law school, Andrea completed a Bachelor of Arts in International Development Studies at the University of Toronto. As part of her studies, Andrea spent a year working in rural India with a community development organization focusing on women's empowerment. After graduating, she worked in administration and fundraising with the non-profit Tearfund Canada. She continues to be involved with the organization as a Director.

Outside of work, Andrea can be found playing ultimate frisbee, hiking, and spending time with her three sisters.
