Anika Winn

Anika Winn is an articling student in Gowling WLG’s Calgary office. Prior to joining the firm, she worked as a summer student and completed a clerkship at the Court of Queen’s Bench in Calgary.

Anika obtained her JD at the University of Ottawa, graduating cum laude with a specialization in health law. Before law school, she completed a BHSc at the University of Calgary.

Throughout law school, Anika served as a teaching assistant, providing additional support and guidance for first-year tort law classes. She was also an intern under the general counsel of the Ottawa Hospital. In her final year of law school, Anika was part of the University of Ottawa team competing in the International Criminal Court Moot Competition, where her team won the America’s regional round and placed third overall in the international round. Anika also won the 2019 CBA health law essay competition.

Previously, Anika was heavily involved in maternal and child health research. She published several papers on prenatal, refugee and immigrant health care, and conducted research in rural Tanzania focused on health education in primary schools.
