
Bio
Caleb Lakhani is a summer law student in Gowling WLG’s Ottawa office, focusing his work with the Intellectual Property Group.
Caleb is currently pursuing his Juris Doctor at the University of Toronto, where he recently completed his first year of studies. During law school, he has been actively involved in several student organizations, serving as a 1L Executive with the Intellectual Property Law Group and as a 1L Representative with the Labour and Employment Law Society. He is also a student researcher at the Future of Law Laboratory, contributing to projects that examine the legal implications of artificial intelligence. Additionally, Caleb competed in the University of Toronto Hicks Morley Moot and the Junior Hockey Arbitration Competition of Canada.
Prior to entering law school, Caleb completed an Honours Bachelor of Science in Translational and Molecular Medicine at the University of Ottawa, earning the University Silver Medal for the second-highest standing in the Faculty of Medicine. His academic accomplishments include receiving an NSERC Brain Research Award and completing a thesis on RNA interference in cervical cancer models.
Professionally, Caleb worked as a policy analyst with the Royal Canadian Mounted Police, where he collaborated with legal teams on conduct-related matters and contributed to policy development. He has also held roles as a tutor and shift manager, gaining valuable experience in leadership, mentorship, and client service.
