Cameron Hicks

Cameron Hicks is a summer student in Gowling WLG’s Calgary office. He completed his first year at the University of Calgary Faculty of Law.

Prior to enrolling in law school, Cameron obtained a bachelor of arts in communications and media studies with distinction and minored in management and society from the University of Calgary. Throughout his undergraduate studies, Cameron competed on the university’s varsity wrestling team and won several medals for the team.

During Cameron’s first year of law school, he volunteered as a student caseworker at the Student Legal Assistance. Outside of law school, he also volunteers with the Calgary Terry Fox Run Committee. As a committee member, Cameron collaborates with other members to facilitate the organization of the annual run and works to develop strategies to increase participation in the event.

Cameron was awarded the Jackson Wright Memorial Athletic Scholarship in his first year of law school. Prior to first enrolling at the University of Calgary, he was awarded the Jim Parker Wrestling Scholarship, which spanned throughout the duration of his undergraduate studies. He is also a two-time recipient of the Jason Lang Scholarship.

In Cameron’s free time, he plays soccer as part of a men’s league team in Calgary, enjoys spending time with friends, and collects vinyl records.
