Christopher Peng

Christopher Peng is an associate in the Intellectual Property Group of Gowling WLG's Calgary office and a registered Canadian patent agent.

Christopher's practice involves patent drafting and prosecution in relation to a wide range of subject matter, including electrical, software, and mechanical engineering. He also advises on intellectual property matters in the context of commercialization and transactions, as well as trademark and general corporate matters.

Christopher has a degree in computer engineering and worked at several multinational organizations, including as a communications systems designer at a consulting services firm, a software engineer at a telecommunications and consumer electronics company, a hardware designer at a telecommunications and networking equipment manufacturer, and an applications engineer at a semiconductor company.

Prior to intellectual property, Christopher practiced as a corporate securities lawyer for a number of years. During this time, he worked at two national law firms and at the Alberta Securities Commission, including as a member of a national initiative directed towards fintech and cryptocurrencies.
