Daniel Chomski

Daniel Chomski is an associate in Gowling WLG's Ottawa office, practising in the Advocacy Group. His practice focuses on commercial litigation and procurement.

Prior to joining Gowling WLG, Dan was an associate at a leading national law firm in Toronto. He worked on a range of commercial matters, including complex contract disputes, class action defence, shareholder disputes, securities litigation and product liability.

Dan completed law school at the University of Ottawa and was actively involved in legal research, writing and advocacy. During his studies, he was a Dean's Legal Research and Writing Fellow, a Writing Leader with the Legal Writing Academy, and an Assistant Editor of the Ottawa Law Review. He competed in several advocacy competitions and won the Hicks Morley Moot in Employment and Labour Law.

Before attending law school, Dan held senior positions on Parliament Hill, including advising the Minister of Justice and Attorney General of Canada, and the Leader of the Government in the House of Commons. He also served as a Maritime Surface Officer in the Canadian Armed Forces. Upon completing naval officer training, he was awarded the Welland Shield for his leadership and contributions to the development of his fellow officers.
