Daniel Phillips

Dan is an associate in the employment, labour and equalities team. He enjoys helping clients to find practical and commercial solutions to complex employment and HR issues.

Dan supports clients on matters such as drafting and negotiating employment contracts and settlement agreements, advising on the impact of TUPE and with day-to-day employment queries. He also assists with larger projects, including exits and appointments of senior executives, redundancy processes, business protection investigations and defending Tribunal claims.

Experience

  • Representing a public sector client in defending a complex discrimination claim in an Employment Tribunal, and securing settlement on favourable terms.
  • Advising a publicly listed company on the exit of a senior executive and the appointment of their replacement, including drafting settlement and service agreements.
  • Supporting a well-known technology client in carrying out a business investigation protection in relation to the dismissal of a senior executive.
  • Advising a client on a redundancy process, including preparing and negotiating settlement agreements.
