Darren Johnston

Darren Johnston is an articling student in Gowling WLG’s Ottawa office, working primarily in the Advocacy Department.

Darren completed his Juris Doctor in the English Common Law Program at the University of Ottawa. During his studies, Darren was an assistant editor for the Ottawa Law Review. He also worked in the Ticket Defence Program Legal Clinic, where he assisted in the resolution and entry of pleas and trial support.

Prior to entering law school, Darren worked for the Department of National Defence where he served as an Operator for 17 years in Canada’s Tier-One Special Operations Force, Joint Task Force Two. Darren has worked internationally and domestically on numerous high-profile national interest operations. 

Darren completed his Bachelor of Arts (cum laude) at the University of Ottawa.
