Edmund Willis

Edmund advises clients in respect of various aspects of real estate work including residential and commercial development, sales and acquisitions, landlord and tenant and management work from a real estate development and investment perspective. He also has experience in commercial and residential property finance and refinance transactions, acting for both borrower and lender. Sectors include offices, retail, build-to-rent (BTR) and self-storage.

Edmund's highlights and experience include acting on the following transactions:

  • in 2023, acting for Quintain on the sale to Greystar of the development site known as NE01, Wembley Park for the construction of a 20 storey building for purpose built student accommodation comprising 770 beds alongside 7,480 sq. ft. of internal and 9,096 sq. ft. of external amenity space;
  • in 2023, acting for Hodson Developments on the complex re-financing with Cheyne of the Chilmington Green residential development, near Ashford in connection with the construction of 5,750 residential homes across four phases, along with new schools, local amenities and a new high-street. The gross development value of the entire project is in excess of £2 billion.
  • in 2022, acting for Fraser Real Estate on the sale of the 72,000 sq. ft. mixed-use development on Soho's Berwick Street comprising a Premier Inn hotel, 12 residential apartments, four affordable housing apartments and 12 retail units;
  • in 2021, acting for Aldgate Developments on the sale to a China Life and Brookfield joint venture of Beagle Investments Lux S.à r.l., the property owning SPV of One Braham, Aldgate, London E1 for a price of £468 million;
  • in 2021, acting for London Borough of Barnet on the acquisition of the 94,000 sq. ft. Brent South Retail Park in north London for £55 million, which houses retailers such as DFS, Sofology, Sports Direct, Next, TX Maxx, Natuzzi and Costa. The site forms part of the Brent Cross Cricklewood regeneration programme, which is the biggest redevelopment and growth programme that London Borough of Barnet has ever undertaken;
  • in 2020, acting for Aldgate Developments on the pre-let of One Braham to BT for its new office headquarters on a 15 year lease;
  • in 2017, acting for Hodson Developments on the complex site acquisition and financing of the Chilmington Green residential development referred to above.
  • in 2016, acting for Aldgate Developments on the sale of Aldgate Tower for £346 million.
