Elana Yamanouchi

Elana Yamanouchi is a summer law student in Gowling WLG’s Vancouver office. She is currently completing the JD program at the Peter A. Allard School of Law at the University of British Columbia.

Prior to law school, Elana worked for Marsh McLennan and completed an honours bachelor of arts in global development at Queen’s University.

While attending law school, Elana worked as a research assistant for Professor Natasha Affolder, conducting research on international environmental impact legislation and the values underpinning environmental law that govern the relationship between the human and non-human world. She also served as a clinic head for the Law Students’ Legal Advice Program (LSLAP) at the Carnegie law clinic and worked as a temporary articling student for both the UBC Innocence Project clinic and Criminal Law clinic.
