Emma Cartledge-Taylor

Bio

Emma is a Principal Associate in Gowling WLG's planning and environment team with a broad depth of experience in planning and environmental law. She has experience in both the non-contentious and contentious elements of planning and environmental law.

Emma is involved in planning and highways matters for both public and private sector clients on projects such as large scale regeneration, residential, office, commercial, retail and logistic developments. Emma's contentious experience has seen her advising on planning litigation, both bringing and defending challenges, in the High Court and Court of Appeal.

Experience

Advising a local planning authority on large scale regeneration including up to 6,700 new homes, up to 3m sq. ft. of office space, train station, schools, parks, sports facilities and associated works;
Advising developers in relation to biodiversity net gain and nutrient neutrality including advising on agreements for the purchase of biodiversity units and phosphate credits;
Advising habitat bank owners/operators on biodiversity net gain including section 106 agreements and conservation covenants for habitat banks;
Advising a national property developer on the sale of a on the sale of a large previously contaminated site following extensive remediation and compliance with environmental liabilities;
Advising a leading house builder in relation to a s.106 agreement and wider planning advice for a development of up to 460 dwellings and associated infrastructure.
Advising a national house builder in relation to a s.106 agreement and other planning advice in relation to a development for to 354 residential dwellings with associated infrastructure.
Advising a leading house builder in relation to a judicial review in the High Court.
Part of a team advising a Parish Council in relation to a judicial review in the High Court and appeal to the Court of Appeal.
Part of a team advising Historic England in relation to the Judicial Review of the Stonehenge A303 Tunnel Development Consent Order.
