Gladys Osien

Gladys Osien is an associate in Gowling WLG's Ottawa office, practising in the Business Law Group. She is a member of the Advertising and Product Regulatory team. Her practice focuses on product regulatory law in relation to food, drugs, natural health products, cosmetics, medical devices and other consumer products.

Gladys' experience includes assessing health claims against scientific evidence, communicating various regulatory and licensing pathways, as well as reviewing product labels. She has also provided assistance with drafting Preventative Control Plans (PCPs), developing Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), drafting Novelty Determination Information requests and preparing Temporary Marketing Authorization (TMA) submissions.

Gladys completed her law degree at the University of Ottawa. During her studies, she wrote and researched extensively on the constitutionality of restricting the advertising of cannabis products on social media.

Prior to law school, Gladys obtained a Bachelor of Science in Biology and Pharmacology and a Master of Science in Experimental Medicine. Her research focused on measuring drug safety and assessing the effectiveness of pharmaceutical drugs on desired health outcomes. She often draws from her science education and experience to assist on matters relating to natural health products and cosmetics.

Gladys serves clients in French and English.
