Hadrien Torron

Hadrien advises and assists French and foreign companies in pre-litigation, litigation and arbitral proceedings. He further assists clients in the course of alternative dispute resolution processes, as well as in implementing compliance programs, notably to French anticorruption and "duty of care" laws.

Prior joining Gowling WLG Hadrien acquired a solid experience as a legal counsel at Fierville Ziadé and CBR & Associés and as in-house legal counsel and Ph.D. candidate in the Dispute Resolution department of the Orano group (formerly Areva), one of the world's leading company in nuclear energy.

Hadrien has achieved a Ph.D. thesis, under the direction of Professor Bruno Dondero (Paris I Panthéon-Sorbonne University) on "Risk prevention, compliance programs control, and new liabilities mechanisms: A study of Sapin 2 (Title I) and duty of vigilance laws".

Hadrien holds a post-graduate degree in contract law from Paris XI Versailles-Saclay University. He completed his Ph.D. thesis at Paris I Pantheon-Sorbonne University.

Hadrien speaks French and English.


  • Advised a fiduciary industrial company against its insurer, to obtain specific performance of the policy before the Paris Court of Appeal.
  • Advised two affiliates of a major nuclear company in the context of a criminal claim against the sellers of exploration mining companies on the grounds of fraud and corruption.
  • Advised before French Courts an owner company, leader in the solar energy sector, against French and Burkinabe EPC contactors in an dispute related to the erection of a solar plant in Burkina Faso.
  • Advised an affiliate of a French aeronautic group in a dispute against one of its suppliers in relation with a transfer of technology contract for an Indian state entity.
  • Advised an affiliate of an international company specialized in the manufacture and distribution of respiratory care products and systems against a contractor further the cancellation of a professional event due to the COVID-19. 
  • Advised a highly recognized bank, in a commercial dispute initiated further to a "chairman fraud".
  • Advised the affiliate of an industrial group, leader in the aviation sector, in an ICC arbitration against one of its commercial agent in Asia, following the termination of its contracts due to suspicions of bribery.
  • Advised an investor in an ICSID Arbitration against a State, on the grounds of expropriation as well as unfair and inequitable treatment.
  • Advised in an ad hoc arbitration two affiliates of a major nuclear company against its « fraud protector » insurer, to obtain specific performance of the insurance policy, further to a fraud committed by a former employee during a major acquisition.
