Hannah Cooper

Hannah is a senior associate in the Commercial, Development and Investment department at Gowling WLG and has developed wide-ranging legal experience having trained in the planning, property litigation, commercial real estate and corporate teams.

Hannah has over two years' experience and advises a variety of clients, including property developers, institutional property funds, landlords and tenants on all aspects of real estate including sales and acquisitions, leasing and asset management, mixed use developments and refinancing.

Her client relationships are with intu Properties, BAE Systems Pension Funds and Taylor Wimpey Central London where she advises on leasehold structures, mixed use developments, the grant of new lettings (retail, office and industrial units) and day-to-day asset management for shopping centres and retail parks.

Experience

  • Advised and assisted on the leasehold structure of a mixed-use site with retail and residential units in London and the grant of an intragroup 999 year lease and subsequent sale worth £2 million.
  • Advised on the portfolio purchase of five existing student accommodation sites worth £26 million with a total of 464 beds and assisted on the purchase of £13 million acquisition of an operational student accommodation asset in Reading.
  • Acting on behalf of an investment fund dealing with the asset management of a shopping centre owned by a Dutch company and advising on the potential redevelopment of a mixed-use site.
  • Advised and assisted on negotiating agreements for leases and leases for units with three household retailers for retail warehouse units in Weybridge with a GDV of circa. £45 million.
  • Leading the sale of a £8.5 million shopping centre for an investment fund.
  • Acting on behalf of an international fashion retailer and advising a lease of an office in London
  • Advising on £86 million redevelopment of a shopping centre in Nottingham.
