Hayley Blackwell

Hayley Blackwell is an associate in the Advocacy Group of Gowling WLG's Hamilton office.

Hayley brings a fresh perspective and unwavering determination to her role as an advocate. She is adept at dissecting legal complexities and crafting effective strategies that align with her clients’ goals. Hayley currently works on a broad range of matters that include commercial disputes and professional liability claims.

Hayley completed her JD at the University of Western Ontario, where she was awarded the Law Society of Ontario Prize for ranking among the top 15 students in her graduating class. While at Western, Hayley provided research assistance to several of her professors in the areas of bankruptcy law, labour and employment law, human rights law, and tax law. She was also a member of Western's 2021 Jessup Moot team, which won the Canadian National Rounds and ranked 11th among the 574 teams in the Global Rounds. She went on to coach Western’s 2022 Jessup Moot team, which ranked 8th globally.

Prior to law school, Hayley completed her bachelor's degree in business and international studies at Redeemer University in Ancaster, Ont. She considers Hamilton home and is excited to expand her legal knowledge and experience with Gowling WLG.

Outside of work, Hayley enjoys listening to audio books, drinking craft beer and collecting antique cameras.
