Jamie Desmond

Jamie has joined the Projects and Infrastructure team from Ireland. He is a junior associate who has already had lots of experience advising on project finance transactions, particularly in the utility sector. He advises on leading energy and infrastructure projects.

Jamie qualified as an energy solicitor in a leading Irish law firm where he advised on the largest renewable projects being financed, constructed, operated and sold in the country.

On the development side, he has experience advising on wind and solar farm project contracts. In the financing sphere, he has experience advising borrowers and lenders on the project financing and refinancing of projects

Experience

  • Advising a sponsor on its bid for a major infrastructure project to design, build, finance, operate, insure and maintain 15 construction villages in the GCC.
  • Advising developers and lenders on various battery energy storage projects in the UK, including advising on the battery supply, balance of plant, O&M and asset management agreements.
  • Advised a leading Irish sponsor on the development of the Ardderroo wind farm (91.2 MW) in County Galway, Ireland.
  • Advised the lenders to Phase 2 of the Oweninny Wind Farm (172MW) in County Mayo, Ireland.
  • Advised the lenders to the Greenlink Interconnector (500MW) between Ireland and Wales (the first privately developed interconnector in Ireland).
  • Advised the seller of a majority stake in a portfolio of 11 Irish operational onshore wind farms (453MW) (which benefited from a mix of state support schemes and a corporate PPA).
  • Advised the buyer of the Cordal Wind Farm (89.6MW) in County Kerry, Ireland.
  • Advised the buyer of a leading electrical sub-contractor in Ireland.
