Jean-Loup Lalonde

Jean-Loup Lalonde has been a law student in Gowling WLG's Montréal office since September 2018 and will begin his tenure as an articling student in 2021.

Jean-Loup is a student in the bachelor of civil law program at the Université de Montréal and is involved in several extracurricular initiatives. With a keen interest in politics and international relations, he formerly served as co-chair of the UN Simulation Committee. At the Catalonia Model United Nations in Barcelona, Spain, he received the distinction of Best Delegate in recognition of his diplomacy skills.

Jean-Loup also previously studied Chinese law at the University of Political Science and Law in Beijing, China.

As part of his current studies, Jean-Loup interns with a judge of the Criminal and Penal Division of the Court of Québec.

Prior to joining Gowling WLG, Jean-Loup worked in Ottawa at Innovation, Science and Economic Development Canada as a policy analyst for cabinet business.
