Jessica Chen

Jessica Chen is an associate in Gowling WLG’s Toronto office in the Business Law Group. Jessica practises municipal law, civil litigation, and administrative law with a focus on real property disputes, land use planning law, expropriation, municipal tax assessment, and landlord and tenant disputes.

Jessica has represented all sides of the development industry, including developers, municipalities, municipal councillors, and community organizations.

Jessica completed her Canadian and American JD at the University of Windsor Faculty of Law and the University of Detroit Mercy Law. She also holds an undergraduate degree in Social Sciences from the University of Ottawa. During her legal studies, as part of the Criminal Law Clinic at Detroit Mercy Law, she successfully advocated for misdemeanor defendants in District Courts.

Prior to entering law school, Jessica interned for the Speaker of the Senate and worked for two Members of Parliament.
