Joseph McDonald

Joe McDonald is an associate in Gowling WLG's Toronto office and a member of the firm's Business Law Group.

He has extensive transactional experience in the capital markets realm, including in the areas of corporate finance, public mergers and acquisitions, and corporate governance. Joe also has experience in private equity investments, reorganizations, and general commercial matters.

Joe's deep understanding of practical business needs comes from having been seconded to one of the firm's largest automotive clients and an international engineering and electronics company, where he advised on various commercial matters with respect to energy management, technology, data privacy, and autonomous vehicles.

In law school, Joe was the executive editor of the Osgoode Hall Law Journal and co-ordinator of the Osgoode Venture Capital Clinic. Prior to entering the legal industry, Joe worked as a senior analyst in the federal and provincial public services.
