Kate has the benefit of 22 years' of experience of working for a range of clients in a variety of areas including:

  • Dealing with all aspects of general commercial dispute resolution matters, including breach of contract claims and shareholder disputes.
  • Investigating failed companies for the Secretary of State for the purposes of pursuing director disqualification proceedings.
  • Investigating bankruptcies on behalf of Official Receivers for the purposes of bankruptcy restriction applications.
  • Acting for Official Receivers in pursuing recoveries for insolvent estates.
  • Defending claims brought against directors by insolvency practitioners.
  • Making various Court applications on behalf of insolvency practitioners relating to the administrations of the insolvency processes and the recovery of funds into the companies' estates.
  • Obtaining various court orders, including company restoration orders, orders to reduce company share capitals and oversees judgment recognition orders.
  • Conducting anti-bribery and corruption ('ABC') risk assessments, drafting ABC policies and advising on ABC issues.

Highlights

  • Investigating a large-scale fraud which resulted in the disqualification of a failed company's directors for a combined period of 33 years.
  • Acting for a director in the defence of a £19 million wrongful trading claim.
