Matthew Finn

Matthew Finn is a lawyer and patent agent in training in Gowling WLG's Montréal office, practising within the Intellectual Property Group. His practice focuses on drafting and prosecuting patent applications relating to information technology, advising on intellectual property litigation matters, and drafting licensing agreements. He is also a member of Gowling WLG’s Technology Industry Group.

Matthew works with both local and foreign clients, assisting them in protecting their inventions in Canada and abroad. He frequently advises startups and inventors who are navigating the world of intellectual property for the first time.

Matthew received his double degree in civil law and common law from McGill’s Faculty of Law. Prior to his law career, Matthew received a degree in computer science from the University of Waterloo and worked as a software developer in a number of different industries.
