Michelle is a lawyer in Gowling WLG’s Ottawa office, practising in the area of municipal law, including land use planning, expropriation, municipal property tax assessment, and municipal finance. She also provides advice in real property disputes and landlord/tenant disputes.
Michelle has represented all sides of the development industry, including developers, municipalities and community organizations. She engages and works with experts in the fields of land use planning, real estate appraisal, traffic engineering, economics, business loss quantification and business valuation.
Michelle has appeared before the Ontario Municipal Board (now the Local Planning Appeal Tribunal), the Assessment Review Board, and the Landlord and Tenant Board. Her practice also involves alternative dispute resolution, including engaging in mediation.
Michelle currently sits as a member-at-large, on the executive of the Canadian Property Tax Association, Ontario Chapter. She is a member of the Ontario Bar Association, the County of Carleton Law Association, and the Ontario Expropriation Association.
