Nisha Jassal

Nisha is an experienced partner focused on leading complex development projects and advising large-scale funds on high-value real estate projects for over 20 years.

A graduate from Keble College, Oxford, Nisha's technical excellence in land law has contributed to her building a strong CV acting for investor funds, developers, major corporates and local authorities on all aspects of multi-faceted development and investment transactions. Her experience includes advising on structuring, forward funding and JV arrangements to deliver high quality mixed-use schemes.

She acts as a key point of contact for clients during transactions, managing cross-disciplinary teams, and liaising with the client's wider project team and other professionals involve helping clients find their route to goal – crafting and implementing viable solutions.

Experience

  • Advising Arden Cross on their development at the HS2 Birmingham interchange, to create global destination for innovation, business, commerce, learning and living, across more than 140 hectares;
  • Advising Thomas White Oxford Limited (TWO), wholly owned by St John's College Oxford, on the commercial JV aspects, land disposal for residential development, and infrastructure contract work for TWO's mixed use development – Oxford North. The development when completed will create c4,500 new jobs; 480 new homes; shops, bars, restaurants and hotel; c23 acres of open spaces, including three new parks with improved walking, cycling, bus and highway networks;
  • Advising long-standing client Warwickshire County Cricket Club on the £93 million redevelopment of the land adjoining Edgbaston Stadium;
  • Acted for U+I Group on JV and funding arrangements for mixed-use developments (e.g. at Hammersmith, Southwark, Brunel Place, Slough, and Landmark Court), and advising on various promotion, DM and collaboration agreements (such as Cambridge Science Park);
  • Advising Castlepoint LP (managed by Aberdeen Standard Investments) on all aspects of Castlepoint Shopping Park – a major development on a 41 acre site with 30 retail units and 3000 car parking spaces. The ongoing work has included the creation of the JV vehicle to facilitate the development, securing funding for the development, dealing with planning construction, initial letting and ongoing management of the scheme.
  • Advising Genting on the  set up and letting of retail and leisure units at Resorts World Birmingham.
