Peter Zhang

Peter (Dongcheng) Zhang is counsel at Gowling WLG, where he leads the firm's China Initiative for the Toronto office. 

Admitted to practise law in Ontario and China, Peter’s main areas of expertise include corporate finance, mergers and acquisitions and foreign direct investment. He holds particular experience in assisting Chinese clients with initial public offerings on stock exchanges in China and abroad. Peter has also assisted clients in dealing with regulatory matters in Canada and China.

Fluent in Mandarin, Cantonese and English, Peter spent several years working as an investment banker at one of China’s largest investment banking and research institutions. Prior to joining Gowling WLG, he was a partner at an international law firm based in Asia.
