Philippe Guay

Philippe Guay is a summer law student in Gowling WLG's Montreal office. He will begin articling at the firm in 2023.

Philippe is entering his third year of the joint BCL/JD program at McGill University's Faculty of Law. He has a keen interest in restructuring and insolvency, mergers and acquisitions, as well as commercial litigation. Before beginning his law studies, he graduated from McGill with a BA in philosophy, with minors in anthropology and history.

Throughout his time in academia, Philippe has participated in several extracurricular activities – most recently leading workshops for the Law-Éducation-Connexion High School Outreach Program and volunteering with Lawyers Without Borders Canada. He also remained involved in his community, supporting the Big Brothers Big Sisters of Canada In-School Mentoring Program in the West Island of Montreal.

Prior to joining Gowling WLG, Philippe worked as a student-at-law at a boutique firm that specializes in litigation and arbitration. He also served as the special assistant to a federal member of parliament for several years.
