Pouyan Zabihian is a tax associate at Gowling WLG's Montreal Office, where he works in the national Tax Law Group.
Pouyan graduated from McGill University's Faculty of Law in 2021. He obtained a Bachelor of Civil Law and Juris Doctor (B.C.L / J.D.) with a minor in Economics. Pouyan also obtained a master's degree (LL.M.) in Tax Law from HEC Montréal in 2023, where he graduated with an award of excellence and received the Canadian Tax Foundation Scholarship for obtaining the highest GPA in his cohort.
While at McGill, Pouyan was on the Dean's Honour List and was the recipient of the Bereskin & Parr prize for achieving the highest mark of his cohort in the Intellectual and Industrial Property course. Pouyan also participated in the moot competition Concours Pierre-Basile-Mignault in 2020-2021, where his team reached the final round of pleadings and received the prize for drafting the second best factum.
Throughout his studies, Pouyan has also been involved in numerous extracurricular activities. He was notably involved with Pro Bono Students Canada, Tech Law McGill and the Legal Information Clinic at McGill. During the 2020-2021 academic year, Pouyan also clerked at the Tribunal administratif du Québec.
