Rebecca Pugh

Rebecca Pugh helps clients to manage their real estate assets in a streamlined and effective fashion in order to cultivate income and ensure returns on their investments.

From industrial to retail (and everything in between) Rebecca works with clients that have a large-scale interest in property, as part of a unique and dedicated team devoted to asset and portfolio management. Her strength lies in getting to know her clients and their assets in detail, acting as a true extension of their teams to put a spotlight on opportunities for maximising income streams, while maintaining letting and asset potential so they are ready for sale at all times.

Although the majority of Rebecca's asset management work is on behalf of investors-as-landlords, she also acts for a number of corporate occupiers. Adept at changing her focus, she nails down the details so that tenants can be assured that they are protected when they walk into a property, drawing on her experience of sitting on the other side of the fence.

Rebecca also has an extensive expertise acting as a Client Service Manager, in particular for a leading real estate investment management client. She acts as a trusted liaison: relaying important information to our team, ensuring consistent procedures are put in place (and acted upon), maintaining online portals and generally ensuring that our work exceeds her client's expectations. All of her clients benefit from the deep knowledge and in-depth understanding of client service that this role brings.

Working in asset management gives you a real opportunity to build great relationships with clients. There are many legal disciplines where you may work with a client on a particular deal, but and when it finishes you close up the file and the relationship has essentially ended.

"In our team, we act for the clients consistently year on year, and not just one matter at a time – we might have ten or more open at once. This enables you to enjoy a constant, ongoing alliance with them and become part of their team. I like to think that when something lands on one of my clients' desks their first thought is that they can just send it to me and I will sort it!
"It is a really interesting and varied environment. I've been here for fifteen years, but it really doesn't feel like anywhere near that long because what you're working on is so different from one day to the next! The people and the atmosphere are a big part of that. I'm lucky to not only have great clients, but a great team here that I'm working alongside.
"Real estate is a core part of our business, so being a part of that and seeing it around you is often exciting in itself. Not to mention seeing it all from my desk in our state of the art office at Two Snowhill! When you work in the same place for a long time, it's those sorts of things that make a real difference.

Highlights

For me, probably the greatest highlight has just been achieving the role I have today. I joined the firm as a newly qualified lawyer who had trained with a very small firm by comparison. Now I'm a Principal Associate in a real estate team that is a true market powerhouse, at the cutting edge and constantly growing.

Clients

Real estate investors, corporate occupiers and a range of other businesses with an interest in property, from large industrial holdings to retail and/or office portfolios.

Experience

Managing a portfolio of offices and industrial estates across the country for a large quoted investment property company.

Acting as the key lead on the real estate requirements for a major British-based multinational design and construction business, advising on the management of their portfolio from both a landlord and tenant perspective.

Advising a major real estate investor on commercial development matters that arise out of the management of their wider portfolio.

Finalising contractual arrangements on behalf of a longstanding client for the sale of a property on the Albert Embankment for £23 million. The property will be utilised for a mixed-use development and the sale involved complex overage arrangements, with Rebecca taking a leading role in ensuring these were of the best advantage to our client.
