Bio
Richard McConnell is the Chief Technology & Operating Officer for Gowling WLG Canada and a member of the firm’s Executive Team. He is responsible for setting strategy and driving performance across technology, innovation, and core business operations.
In this role, he oversees the firm’s business services teams that drive information technology and security, artificial intelligence, innovation and knowledge management, and enterprise project management, as well as key operational functions in real estate management, office services and hospitality, document and records management, and corporate travel.
Working closely with his Executive Team colleagues, Richard focuses on aligning people, processes, and technology to deliver seamless, high-quality services to billing professionals, business teams, and clients.
With more than 25 years of experience in senior leadership roles, Richard has led a wide range of business service functions, including technology, human resources, and business development and marketing teams. Before joining Gowling WLG, he held progressively senior roles at a global systems integration and technology outsourcing firm.
Richard holds an Executive MBA from Queen’s University and an Honours Bachelor of Arts in Geographic Information Systems from Carleton University.
