Robbie Turchyn
Robbie Turchyn is a summer student in Gowling WLG's Hamilton office. He is entering his third year of the Juris Doctor program at Queen’s University.
Robbie has taken an active role in the law school community. He is co-president of the Sports and Entertainment Law Society and co-founder of the Canadian Public Interest Law Association. In his first year at Queen’s, he served as an editor for the Queen’s Law Journal.
Prior to law school, Robbie completed his bachelor’s and master’s degrees in kinesiology at Western University, focusing his master’s studies in sport management. During this time, he helped grow a Hamilton-based startup sports agency, C.F. Management, managing action sports athletes and entertainers. Robbie also interned for leading global sports agency, Wasserman, where he primarily served PGA and LPGA golfers. His experience and education in the sport industry has grown his interest in contract, labour and employment law.
Robbie has also worked in the technology industry for Burlington-based L3 Harris Wescam and Oakville-based Geotab. At L3, he worked on regulation and implementation of environmental, health and safety policies. At Geotab, Robbie worked on the in-house counsel team on matters of contracts, negotiation, employment and intellectual property. He is keen to help technology companies grow and navigate their challenges.
Robbie is excited to return to Hamilton to serve the community in which he grew up. In his free time, you will find Robbie at the local hockey rinks, golf courses, hiking trails, trying new restaurants and exploring the islands of Georgian Bay.
